music!
yumna and i were talking and i realized how good of an understanding she has of her evolution in music taste -- she is able to pinpoint an album that represents each year of her recent life. i want to be more intentional about music--in thinking, listening, more than that. so this is going to be for that. right now it will have just my album of the now plus previous albums of the now (albums of the past?) maybe in the future it will expand. maybe it will rival my library page!

january 29- new single from starcharm! i have only heard Wake Up and their previous single Color Clear, having never seen them live, but i am hungry for more! they inspire me in their single, committed vision and strong thesis. love this song for its urgency, its unraveling, its femininity. and when those drums came in i was doubly sold.
albums of the past
evan showed me this album and i really like it. fred thomas did the production and mastered the album and this makes sense with all the dreamy haze that surrounds the songs. makes me want to take photos of strangers on film. they've opened for like every band i love which is so cool. hopefully they come to detroit someday! fav track: crash landing of the clod
january 22- i really like this album. there is something i can only describe as genius in the lyrics. i love simplicity in songwriting and it is something i am jealous of. how do you think of something that is evocative and bold? i guess i need to ask bungee jumpers. Jack and Adelaide of BJ stayed with at my house while they were touring with answering machines and they are both sweet and strange and lovely people. cheers to them! extra points for the asdf album cover. favorite track: wall
